The Coastal Bend Trans Alliance is honored to help carry forward the legacy of Edward “Eddie” Perez through a scholarship opportunity made possible by the generosity of Jerry & Ofelia C. Rivera and the Eddie Perez Memorial Fund. This scholarship is available to recent LGBTQIA+ graduates and students currently enrolled in college, university, or vocational programs.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Eddie’s family for their continued advocacy and support. Through their impactful work organizing the annual Gifts from Heaven Toy Drive & Show and school supplies fundraiser, they provide essential resources to local youth, and now, vital support for LGBTQIA+ students pursuing higher education.
In a powerful show of unity, Pride Corpus Christi, The Mosaic Project of South Texas, Coastal Bend Trans Alliance (est. 2016), Trans Justice Funding Project, and Trans-Visionary have partnered to fund three additional scholarships, expanding the reach and impact of this initiative.
🎓 Scholarships will be awarded by Miss Texas Trans USA, Kitana Sanchez, during Corpus Christi LGBT Family Day on Sunday, June 29 at All Saints’ Episcopal Church.
Together, we honor Eddie’s memory by investing in the future of our community, uplifting those who embody resilience, excellence, and pride.
